Michael Keaton's name did not come from his middle name. When he realized he needed to change his name, he had seen an article with a nice picture of Diane Keaton He chose Keaton with the intention of changing it later. However, the name stuck and was eventually legally changed. Years later, he phoned Diane Keaton and thanked her. The two have never actually met. Although not related to Diane Keaton he changed his last name to Keaton because he couldn't use the name Michael Douglas , and he liked the sound of her last name (according to Diane Keaton ... of course, Keaton isn't her last name either).
